There are several apps out there that claim you can start out being a complete bum, like me, who doesn’t exercise at all and gets winded by walking up the stairs to go to bed and in just 9 short weeks you will be able to complete a 5 kilometer run or at least be able to run for 30 minutes straight. The best part about these apps is that they are free. Wouldn’t it be fantastic if there was a way to do that with a foreign language? Stick around, because I’m going to tell you how you can get 90 group lessons and get 100% of the cost refunded at the end of 90 lessons.
I’ve tried one of these running apps before and failed miserably. I used it about once or twice a week for a few months before I finally gave up. I didn’t use it consistently. I didn’t have the dedication necessary to reach my goals. Everyone who has been successful in learning a language will tell you that it is the same way. If you only study a language when you remember to, when you think about it, or even just when I upload a video, you will likely not be very successful. Learning a language is a marathon. It is an endurance race. It is about getting up every single day with the goal of learning something new that day. It takes dedication and consistency.
If you are like me, you may have trouble getting that motivation to learn something new each day. Part of my problem was finding exactly what I should do each day. I didn’t have a plan. I needed a blueprint for success. It’s tough to be motivated to learn something, when you don’t know what that thing should be, when you will learn it or even where to start. To make matters even worse, language lessons can be incredibly expensive.
My longtime sponsor Lingoda has a way that you can save €567 while taking lessons in either German or English every day for three months. This will skyrocket your language skills and boost your confidence in the language tremendously. If you complete the full Language Marathon, Lingoda will refund 100% of the cost of all 90 group lessons. If you complete the half marathon challenge, Lingoda will refund half of the cost of the 45 group lessons you take over three months. If you want to join this challenge, there are a limited number of spots available, so you need to act fast. I put a link in the description that will lead you to the sign-up page and let you read over the terms and conditions of the challenge. First let me tell you about Lingoda, so you know what kind of lessons you can expect from them. After that I’ll cover some of the details about the challenge.
Lingoda is fantastic for language learners for so many reasons, but one of my favorite things about Lingoda is that their lessons are aligned with CEFR, which means you won’t be just taking random lessons without a direction or goal. You will never have the issue of not knowing what to learn next, because their courses are set up in a chapter by chapter outline, so you always know what you still have to learn and build those skills that are necessary to take your language ability to the next level.
Lingoda language lessons are available around the clock every day of the week, so your lessons can fit your schedule and your lifestyle. You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your home to take these professionally developed lessons. The lessons are available no matter where you are in the world, because the lessons are held online via the LearnCube platform. To make things even better, every lesson it taught by a native speaker, so you know you are getting the best tips about the language.
I have taken quite a few lessons with Lingoda in both French and German and they have always been amazing. The lessons are well designed and the classroom atmosphere never feels like the usual boring, stuffy classroom that you may be accustomed to. The teachers are friendly, professional, and always there to make your experience the best it can be for you. They individualize their instruction to meet the needs of each of the students in every class. As a real world teacher with a degree in education and foreign language instruction, I have to admit, I am very impressed with the way Lingoda conducts its lessons.
A few months ago, I uploaded a video about Lingoda’s first ever Language Marathon Challenge, which just finished last weekend. It was such an awesome success for so many language learners that they are giving you another chance to participate. If you didn’t participate the last time, or if you did last time and you didn’t quite make it, you can sign up for this marathon starting on April 2nd, which by the way was last week, through April 19th if you want to learn English or May 18th if you want to learn German.
To sign-up, you simply click the link in the description, fill out the form and pay the entry fee. Normally this fee is €5, $5 or 320 rubles, but because you are watching this video, you can get in for just €0.50, $0.50, or 60 rubles. All you have to do is put in the voucher code “RUN4” to get the discount. Once you have registered for the challenge, you will pay for each month of the challenge up front. The amount depends upon if you are doing the full marathon or the half marathon. The full marathon is €189 for each month of the marathon and the half marathon is €99 each month. You won’t be charged for the first month’s lessons until the 23rd of April for English or the 23rd of May for German and you have 14 days from your date of signing up and paying the entry fee to stop your first payment or get a refund for a first payment if it is after the 23rd of April or May.
To complete the full marathon challenge and get 100% of the €567 refunded to you at the end of the challenge, you need to complete 90 total group lessons over 3 months (May 2nd through July 31st for English or June 1st through August 31st for German) with a maximum of 1 lesson per day. I suggest booking classes at least a week ahead of time, so you make sure it fits into your schedule and you can get the classes you want at the times you want them. You will pay for each month of the challenge at the end of the previous month for all three months of the challenge, but at the end, you will get all of that money back, if you complete the challenge.
If you are doing the half marathon, you will need to complete 15 lessons per month. Again, you can’t do more than one lesson in a single day, but you also can’t do more than 5 lessons in one week. You will be charged €99 each month and at the end of the challenge, if you completed all 45 lessons in 3 months, you will be refunded half of the cost of those lessons, which ends up being €148.50.
Even if you don’t complete the challenge, whether it be the full marathon or the half marathon, the lessons you take during this time, will improve your language skills and give you the motivation you need to be consistent in your language learning.
On the technical side, you are going to need a computer for this challenge, so you can’t use your phone or tablet, the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, and a decent, reliable and stable internet connection.
If you still have questions about this challenge, you can find detailed terms and conditions and all that legal stuff via the link in the description or you can just write a comment below and I’ll answer your questions.
So what are you waiting for? Sign-up started on Monday and spots are filling up fast. If you want to take part in this challenge, click the link in the description now and get started. In a few short months, you will be amazed at how much your language skills have improved.
