This week I tried something new with the Wednesday B1/B2 video. I simply put the text of a Grimm fairy tale on the screen while reading it. I wasn't sure if my subscribers would really like this type of video, but I thought it was worth a shot.
While we are on the topic of Grimm fairy tales, I have to recommend you use a website that I actually used in the script of this video. At Grimmstories.com you can find a ton of fairy tales, not only in German, but in a variety of languages. You can even find fairy tales that aren't written by the Brothers Grimm. One of the best parts about this site, however, is the option to read two languages side-by-side. This is a great opportunity for German learners to read in German and check their understanding in their native language. Be careful, however. The translations are usually the more poetic translations instead of a sentence by sentence translation.
